Morrison, Robert
Robert Morrison (1782-1834) was the first Protestant missionary to China. He began studying Chinese along with theology and medicine as a student in Northumbria, England. In 1807 the London Missionary Society sent him to Canton, China.
Morgan, George Campbell
George Campbell Morgan (1863-1945) was born in Gloucestershire, England. He was ordained in the Congregational Church and began his ministry at churches in Birmingham and London. In 1883 he began working with Dwight L. Moody and Ira Sankey during a revival in Britain.
More, Hannah
Hannah More (1745-1833) was born near Bristol, England. She was educated at a school run by her older sisters. She began writing at an early age and by the time she was in her mid-thirties she had published a number of dramas and works of religious fiction.
Moody, Dwight Lyman
Dwight Lyman Moody (1837-1899) was one of the great 19th century American evangelists. He was born in East Northfield, Massachusetts to a family of modest means. His father died when Moody was four and financial circumstances and his own unruly nature kept him from receiving more than a superficial education.
Milton, John
John Milton (1608-1674) was one of the greatest English poets. He was born in London and was educated at Cambridge. His family’s wealth allowed him to travel extensively after graduation and to spend six years at his father’s estate writing poetry.
